New Delhi: Organisers of the 2007 World Cup cricket tournament in the West Indies played down Indian fan concerns about travel and accommodation saying they were confident the event would be a big hit.

"You will not be disappointed with the hospitality," World Cup chief executive Chris Dehring said in New Delhi late Thursday at the unveiling of the tournament's logo and mascot.

"We wish to encourage as many Indian fans as possible to travel to the Caribbean for the best World Cup ever. There will be a wide range of accommodation for international visitors," he said.

The World Cup starts in March and runs into April with matches to be held in nine different island countries.

Grenada Prime Minister Keith Mitchell, who also attended the function with International Cricket Council chief executive Malcolm Speed, offered assurances that travelling would not be a problem for fans.

"To make travel hassle-free, we have decided to issue a single visa for all the nine countries during the event," he said.

Speed said he was confident first-time hosts West Indies would do a great job, considering their passion for and commitment to the game.

"The world owes West Indies a huge debt for its flair for exciting cricket and a vibrant game. It gave us some great memories, some great players and contributed immensely in popularising one-day cricket," said Speed.

"Given the passion West Indies have for the game and the commitment shown so far by the governments and people of the region, we are confident they will host an excellent World Cup.
