First ODI: Bangladesh to bat against Australia

Chittagong (Bangladesh): Bangladesh captain Habibul Bashar won the toss and elected to bat in the first of three one-day internationals against world champions Australia here on Sunday (Apr 23, 2006).

Australia swept the preceding Test series 2-0.

Australia: Ricky Ponting (capt), Simon Katich, Adam Gilchrist, Michael Clarke, Michael Hussey, Andrew Symonds, Brad Hogg, Brett Lee, Nathan Bracken, Dan Cullen, Mitchell Johnson.

Bangladesh: Habibul Bashar (capt), Shahriar Nafees, Mohammad Ashraful, Rajin Saleh, Aftab Ahmed, Tushar Imran, Khaled Mashud, Mohammad Rafique, Mashrafe Mortaza, Abdur Razzaq, Syed Rasel.
